Who are we ;

 

“ELKO” was registered as a Trade Name with registration number TU1347 under Chapter 114 on 25th February 1988. On 5th January 1993 the name was changed to “ELKO COMMUNICATIONS AND ALARM SYSTEMS”.

 

The sole owner of the company is Ismet Ustuner. He graduated from London University  in 1965 as an Electrical Engineer and was granted B.Sc. (Eng.).  Later on while working for GEC, he took an M.Sc. course with the same university in his own time and was accorded M.Sc. (Physics). His subject was “Physical Electronics of the Solid State” and he carried some studies on Superconducting Computer Elements.

 

He worked in England from 1965 to 1976, first with CEGB (Central Electricity Generating Board) at Cockfosters and then with GEC (General Electric Company) mainly as a Research and Development Engineer. He resigned his work in England and came to Cyprus and worked from 1976 to 1986 for Cyprus Turkish Industrial Enterprises Holding Ltd., first as the manager of Cyprotube Steel Pipe Factory and then as Metal Group Manager but he always kept a keen interest in engineering problems not only with his group but in the whole company. He resigned from Industrial Holding Company in 1986 and set up his own business. He has been importing Voltage Regulators since 1988 and now he gets them made in China to his own specifications and always aiming for best quality and performance.
